Eleanor Nancy “El” (Magnuson) Johnson, 80, a resident of Emerald Court since 2006, passed away at home from Parkinson’s complications. Eleanor died the same way that she lived “Peacefully and Quietly”. She was the beloved wife of Norman Johnson, with whom she had shared 59 years of marriage.
She was born and raised in Woburn, one of three children of the late Gustav and Nancy (Nelson) Magnuson. She graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1959. After her marriage to Norm, they lived in Wakefield then moved to Wilmington to raise their daughters. In 2006 El and Norm moved to Emerald Court in Tewksbury. Eleanor was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer in Woburn.
Besides her husband Norm, Eleanor leaves two daughters, Lisa A. Johnson and her boyfriend, Jamie Boudreau, of Tewksbury and Lynn K. Cheney and her husband James of Wilmington; a granddaughter, Sarah Cheney of Wilmington; her brother, John Magnuson and his wife Barbara of Westford, MA, her sister in law, Sally Magnuson of Texas, many nieces and nephews and her caretaker, Nateena Jalarjue-Dentor who showed her nothing but care and compassion for the the past 5 years.
She was predeceased by her brother, the late Kenneth Magnuson.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 60 Forest Park Rd, Woburn, MA 01801 are encouraged.
