David S. Tavares, 47, of New Bedford died Sunday, November 7, 2021 unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, son of Judith A. Tavares and the late Steven Tavares, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed as a painter for Martins Painting for many years.
David enjoyed camping and fishing and loved to ride motorcycles. He was always smiling and loved living life and spending time with his friends and family, especially his sons.
He is survived by his mother, Judith; his sons, Steven D. Tavares and Krystian E. Tavares; his siblings, Andrew J. Tavares and his wife Lynde, Jessica S. Tavares, and Andrea L. Tavares; three step-sons, Brad Heyes, Justin Heyes, and Brent Lagoa and his wife Jasmine and their daughters Juli'anna, Kam'eri, and Charley; his step-sister, Heather Eluziairo; three Godchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harold and Shirley Pittsley and Edward and Maryann Tavares; and his step-sister, Jamie DaCosta.
His visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 2-6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His funeral services and burial will be private. For directions and guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
