Michael D. McDonald, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, November 12, 2021, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating.
Mr. McDonald was born July 28, 1957, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Sue Lee McGee and the late Carlton Davis McDonald. He was a 1975 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where he received an Associate’s degree in Business. Mr. McDonald loved music and began playing the guitar in Jr. High School. He also gave guitar lessons. He was a loving husband and father. Mr. McDonald retired from the Department of Transportation as an Assistant Area Engineer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his daughters: Ashlee Ray & Chris, Jr. of Fitzgerald and Alyssa McDonald & Cheyanne of Fitzgerald; his mother, Sue Lee McGee of Fitzgerald; sister, Lee Ann Walker & Emory of Tifton; a brother, Andy McDonald & Kim of Fitzgerald and niece and nephew: Jessica Walker and Glen & Beverly Walker and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Mobley & Rita of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ann McDonald and his father, Carlton McDonald.
