Rita “Joyce” MacLeod, 82, of Londonderry, NH passed away November 8, 2021 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Joyce was born November 5, 1939 in St. Louis, MO and was a daughter of the late Raymond and Thelma (Crocker) Roedder. She was raised and educated in Overland, MO and was a graduate of Ritenour High School. Joyce had been a resident of Londonderry since 1983, having previously resided in Lynn, MA.
Joyce had worked at General Electric in Lynn prior to moving to NH. She worked in retail sales in NH. She was employed at Cumberland Farms in Derry for several years and then left to join CVS. Joyce was hired prior to the opening of the new CVS location in Londonderry, where she remained until her retirement in 2010. She was a longtime member of the Spacetown Beagle Club of Derry and the American Legion Post 27 Women’s Auxiliary. Joyce loved the outdoors, camping and yearly vacations in Pittsburg, NH. She also loved visiting with family in Maine.
Members of the family include her husband of 38 years, Robert C. MacLeod; her son, Kenneth Raymond Tucker and fiancé Penney O’Connell; her daughter, Christi Dillon and husband Mark; and her sister Sharon MacLeod and her late husband Bruce. She has several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and beloved cousins, Nancy, Kathleen, Marsha, Joni and Buddy Fransos. Joyce was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond and Ronald Roedder and her beloved son Daryl Tucker in 2013.
After cremation, memorial calling hours will be Friday, November 19th from 9 to 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Interment of her urn will follow at 12:30pm in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Route 3, Boscawen, NH.
