Richard Betancourt Pinero
LOWELL Richard Betancourt Pinero, 55 of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia Rivera with whom he shared the last 15 years.
He was born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico on August 9, 1966 and was a son of the late Jose Betancourt and the late Paula (Pinero) Betancourt. He was raised, educated, and resided most of his life on the island of Puerto Rico, before relocating to the United States 18 years ago, settling in Lowell.
In addition to his wife, Sylvia Rivera of Lowell, he is survived by three children, Hector Garcia, Richard Betancourt, and Katherine Betancourt; and 2 granddaughters and a grandson, Damien Gonzalez.
