Ilse (Richter) Stiegler, 92, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Siegfried F. Stiegler, they shared 67 years of marriage.
Mrs. Stiegler was born in Dortmund, Germany, daughter of the late Wilhelm and Ida (Dorsing) Richter, resided and worked as a telephone operator until immigrating to the United States with her husband in 1956. In 1961, the couple moved to Dartmouth and officially became U.S. citizens in 1962. She was an amazing seamstress, making many of her daughters outfits and prom dresses. Due to her love of sewing, she worked many years in the fabric department at Zayre Department store. She will be remembered mostly for being devoted and dedicated to her family. She was also an avid Bruins fan, enjoyed watching the Patriots with her family and loved as well as believed in the power of angels.
Survivors include her 2 daughters: Monica Stiegler and her fiancé Steve Soucy of New Bedford; Erika Downs and her husband Michael of Dartmouth; and 2 grandchildren: Sydney and Matthew Downs.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home from 8-9:30 A.M.
Funeral service and interment will be private.
