Roger Leroy Jordan, 85, of Medway, formerly of Franklin, passed away November 7 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Downey) Jordan with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.
Roger was born in Iowa City, Iowa, September 30, 1936, to the late Roy Punch Jordan and Carolyn (Meixner) Jordan , Mr. Jordan had lived in Medway for the past 37 years.
After many years as a master scheduler, Roger retired from the Dresser Company.
In his youth, he was an outstanding athlete. He played for the 1956,North Platte Indians of the Nebraska State League, a farm club of the Cleveland Indians. He played in 14 games and averaged .385 in his 13 at bats.
Roger took great pride in the many musical groups he directed. Barbershop quartets included The Yankee Traders and Sound Express. Choruses included The Ocean State Chorus, The Franklin Chordsmen and The Sweet Adelines. He also enjoyed playing ping pong, gardening and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sister Wanda Mercer of Franklin, his children, Roger Jordan Jr.and his wife Lynn of North Smithfield, R.I., Andrew Jordan and his wife Melanie of Franklin, Jeffrey Jordan and his partner Karen Esposito of Johnston, RI, Laurie Anzivino of Medway, Teresa Barrows of Uxbridge, Sharon Anzivino-Carbonneau and her husband Michael of Worcester, Wendy Reiffarth and her husband James of Blackstone and Matthew Anzivino and his wife Kara of Medway. He was predeceased by his sister Melba and brother Lemar.
He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service and burial will be private.
