Wilma (Hicks) Janes, 91, of Anderson passed away on November 5, 2021 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus following an extended illness.
She was born on August 20, 1930 in Elwood to Reginald Dewey and Beatrice (Murray) Hicks.
She worked production at Delco Remy for 30 years and retired in 1983. She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a member of the Women’s Relief Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Graves and Sandra Douglas both of Anderson; a sister, Rosemary Jones of Elwood; four grandchildren, Mark Buston of Anderson, Gregory (Terri) Douglas of Pendleton, Christopher Douglas of Middletown, and Andrea (Shannon) Phillips of Anderson; six great-grandchildren, Parker (Addie) Douglas, Evan Douglas, Alexa Douglas, Tiffany Douglas, Justin (Olivia) Douglas, and Brylee Naselroad; one great-great grandchild, Carter Douglas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hymon Janes in 2004; three sisters, Sara Hancock, Bettie Harting, and Beatrice Beeman; and two brothers, Emory Hicks and William Hicks.
A funeral service will be on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Todd Hovermale officiating. The burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30am -12:00 Noon on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
