Obituary

Jason N. Williams of Thompson CT, formerly of East Bridgewater and Whitman passed away peacefully on Friday evening November 5, 2021 at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, CT with his loving wife and Mom at his side. Following a period of failing health, he fought a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Vanessa L. (DeHart) Williams.

Born April 20, 1971 in Brockton, he was the son of Nancy G. (Schlieff) Williams and the late Jay E. Williams. Jason moved to Thompson CT in 2004 and he and Vanessa married in 2012.

Jason attended East Bridgewater schools and graduated in 1989. He played many sports throughout his school years, especially soccer, but he excelled in Track in high school, leading his team to a league title his senior year. Intensely competitive, he was a long and high jump, low and high hurdles and mile relay standout.

Jason served in the CT Army National Guard for a few years and was at Ft Knox, KY for training. Jason was employed by Air-SERVE as a Technician for several year prior to his health issues.

Always an avid fan, he loved the Patriots, Bruins and Redsox plus NASCAR. He knew and could talk to a litany of numbers, facts and player statistics from all the sports, especially Tom Brady's career stats. He loved cars and trucks. He was proud of his 2004 Ford pickup that he bought brand new and still drove and kept meticulously clean.

Jason was a thoughtful and kind person and so generous. He was clever, quick witted and loved humor and could talk for hours about sports and the Stock Market which became his passion for the past several years. He taught himself investing strategies achieving some success. He also loved music and movies. Jason enjoyed the outdoors and observing the wildlife around his country home. He loved his three dogs that he shared with Vanessa. He always looked forward to visiting with his Mom and Dad and spending personal time with his Dad before his passing in 2014. Jason was a most loving son and husband and a loyal friend to those who knew him well.

In addition to his wife and mother, Jason is survived by his beloved grandmother Rita G. (Champagne) Schlieff of East Bridgewater, his father-in-law Ronald Dehart and Susan Porada of Southborough MA. Also, his sister-in-law Val plus brothers in law Vince, Van, and Ronald DeHart. Jason was the grandson of the late Walter Schlieff and the late Arthur and Ellen Williams. His mother-in-law, Patricia DeHart passed away in July. He is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews especially his Uncle Jerry and Aunt Donna. Jason also leaves behind his longtime friend Will. Jason will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Saturday November 13 from 10:00am to 12noon at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. His funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will follow his service at Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
