Obituary

CHICOPEE – Nancy M. (Scribner) Renkowic, 78, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 6, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on June 30, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late Lester C. and Marion R. (Francis) Scribner. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee High School and lived in the city her entire life. She was employed for 37 years for the Chicopee School Department, was last employed as the Cook Manager at Chicopee Comprehensive High School, and retired in 2013. She was a member of the Willimansett Heights Hall in Chicopee. Nancy enjoyed ceramics, camping and boating and loved her many trips to the coastline of Maine with her husband and family. She most especially loved her quiet time with her beloved canine companion, Crystal. She was a longtime communicant of the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church and was currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church, both in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Gene Paul Renkowic. They were married on December 2, 1961 in Enfield, Connecticut and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. Besides her husband, she leaves her two loving children, Marion R. Lentes and her husband, Edward, of Chicopee and David A. Renkowic and his wife, Lisa, of Westfield; her two cherished grandsons, Kristofer Aubuchon and his wife, Deb, of Boston and Corey Aubuchon and his girlfriend, Page, of San Diego, CA; her two cherished great grandchildren, Amaury and Arlo Aubuchon; her dear sister, Shirley Denardo of Westfield; her dear sister in law, Barbara Grinuk of Enfield, CT; her dear brother in law, Allan Chandonnet of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and numerous friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three dear brothers, Richard, Charles and Oliver Scribner; her three dear brothers in law, John Denardo, Michael Grinuk and Joseph Renkowicz, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne; and her dear sister in law, Lorraine “Lori” Chandonnet. Her family would like to thank the staff at Chanda Care and Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice for their compassion and care. Her funeral services will be private for her family.
