Marilyn T. Schwalb
Longtime Tewksbury resident


TEWKSBURY: Marilyn T. (Maher) Schwalb, age 91, a communicant of St. William of York Parish, passed away at home with her family by her bedside on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of the late William l. Schwalb, who passed away on August 9, 1996.

Born in Cambridge on November 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William M. Maher and the late Theresa E. (Mongardi) Maher.

Marilyn was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School.

In 1955, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their six children.

Marilyn enjoyed vacations at Weirs Beach, Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire as well as at York Beach in Maine. Her greatest enjoyment and true love was being with her family.

She is survived by her six children, retired Tewksbury Police Officer, William L. Schwalb, Jr. and Diane Shurtleff, of Tewksbury, Pamela J. McDermott and her late husband Edward, of Lowell, Beverly “Becky” Meharg and her husband Kenneth, of York Beach, ME, Debora Ducey and her husband Dorian, of Methuen, Cynthia Magnell and her husband William, of Tewksbury and Lori Parent, of Wilmington: nine grandchildren, Heidi Reinhart and her husband David, Ami Dufresne and her husband Brad, Kenneth Meharg, Jr. and his wife Lindsey, Amanda Parent, Carlie Parent, Samantha Bolduc and her husband Daniel, Owen McDermott, Hilliary Christman and her husband Shawn, and Andrew Magnell: six great grandchildren, Catherine Reinhart, David Reinhart, Jr., Kenneth Meharg, III, Maxwell Meharg, Kennedy Christman, and Frankie Bolduc. She was the sister of Carole Falcone of Boston and the late William Maher and Constance McManus. Marilyn leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 9th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin Wednesday, Nov. 10th at 10:30 a.m.at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Williams’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. Donations honoring her memory may be made to Lahey Health at Home Hospice, 51 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805.
