Obituary

John Oliver Hall III passed away November 4, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center. John was a native of Albany, GA born September 25, 1945. He was a graduate of Albany High, student body president of Georgia Southwestern College (1964), and a graduate of Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents John O. Hall II and Salita Johnson Hall Forrester. He is survived by his wife Lynn Harrell Hall of Ocilla; son Zack Hall and his wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Aidan and Ava Hall of Elmhurst, IL; daughter Mindi Hall Kiewert and her husband Chris, and grandchildren Reese and Nash of Hoschton, GA; and a sister Beth and Gus Walters of Valdosta, GA.

He was a lover of all animals including his dogs Russell, Mia, and Honey. While living in Albany, GA John’s father trained horses at the Richardson’s Horse Farm where John gained his love for Show Horses that led to John’s training of “Bee Sting” who became a World Roadster Pony Champion at the Kentucky State Fair in the late 70’s.

John served in the Georgia National Guard as well as being a Mason and serving in many capacities as a Shriner at the Hasan Temple in Albany. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, FL and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ocilla. John’s work career included years in the Insurance industry where he started his own agency before working for Bell South Yellow Pages/AT&T where he won many sales awards and President’s Clubs. Upon retiring from AT&T he owned and operated “An Axe to Grind” stump grinding business in Melbourne, FL. He enjoyed cooking including bar-be-cueing, low country boils, and making his Hall’s heavenly hog sauce.

His friend introduced him to Lynn Harrell of Ocilla and they married in 2016.

Final Arrangements have made at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, Ga. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 7th, at 2 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ocilla with the funeral to follow at 3 pm. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Reverend James Griffin will officiate the services.

The Family will be at the residence 306 East Blvd. Ocilla, Ga.
