Robert William Kearney of West Bridgewater (formerly of Weymouth and West Roxbury,) passed away peacefully in his home with his wife of 54 years, Catherine, and his daughter, Michelle K. McGee (of Easton,) early Wednesday morning, November 3rd at the age of 78.
Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine; his daughter, Michelle; his grandchildren: Addie, 19,and Liam, 15, of Easton; and Tristan, 13, and Mackenzie, 11 today.
Robert was born on May 27, 1943 in West Roxbury. He married Cathie in 1967, bought a home in Weymouth where they lived for 50 years, and raised two daughters before moving to West Bridgewater. Bob was a Navy veteran and retired Boston police officer.
Bob was preceded by his parents, Robert T. and Elizabeth G. Kearney of West Roxbury, and his daughter, Lisa E. Elias of Canton. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen (Francis) Prasse, and his brothers Daniel (Cheryl) Kearney and William (Swati) Kearney, and his sister-in-law Patricia MacKenzie (Alexander “Tom” Farkas,) many nieces, nephews and countless friends and people whose lives he touched.
Bob was a friend of Bill’s for 46 years and lived his life for others. Those who knew Bob know that he preferred to give rather than receive.
