Nella Robinson passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday night after a lengthy illness. She was 69. Born in Castel del Giudice, Italy, she came to the United States with her family as a young girl and settled in Medford. Nella was devoted to her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. For over 30 years she worked as a receptionist at the State House on Beacon Hill. She loved helping people there and could always be counted on to serve the public well. A big fan of Bruce Springsteen, Nella enjoyed music but most of all, just spending time with those she loved.
The beloved wife of Reginald “Reggie” Robinson, Nella was a loving mother of Reggie Robinson and his longtime companion Kelly Gavigan of Billerica and Mark Robinson of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Victoria, Samantha, Reggie, Jr., Tea-Nicole and Brandon. Nella was a devoted daughter of Adele (Martella) and the late Ercole Cenci. She also leaves her dear sister Mary Riley and her husband Bill of Billerica. Nella was a devoted aunt to William Riley, Jr. and his wife Judith of Melrose, Michael Riley and his wife Kristin of Billerica and the late Toni Marie Riley. She was a dear great-aunt of Ashley, Mikayla, Michael Jr. and Julia Riley.
Nella’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday November 5th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Thursday 4 – 7 PM.
