Cynthia E. Shilensky
Of Tewksbury


TEWKSBURY: Cynthia E. “Cyndi” Shilensky, age 60, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Born in Lowell on July 15, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. Shilensky and the late Bessie (Pappaconstantinou) Shilensky. She was the sister of the late Deborah A. Carney and the late Catherine L. (Piper) Hingey.

Cyndi was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough with the Class of 1979. During her high school years, she was an all-star member of the Lancers Basketball Team.

Following graduation from N.D.A , she attended the University of Lowell (U.Mass-Lowell), where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

Cyndi was a prominent member of the University of Lowell Women’s Basketball Team and was recognized for scoring 257 points during the 1979-1980 season.

She was employed by the Wang Corporation in Tewksbury and later with the R.H. White Construction Company of Merrimack, NH.


Cyndi is survived by her sister, Stephanie Norton and her life partner, John Young, of Lowell: her nephews, Ethan J. Piper and Michael J. Evans, Jr.. She also leaves many cousins and friends.


Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 5, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, to be followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring her memory may be made to Academy of Notre Dame, 180 Middlesex Road, Tyngsborough, MA 01879.
