FALL RIVER - George Joseph Tonelli, 72, of 1748 Highland Ave., Fall River, Ma., formerly of 671 King Philip St., Fall River, MA, died Friday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He is survived by One Son: Michael Norman Tonelli of Fall River, Three Daughters: Deborah Ann Tonelli of Johnston, R.I., Christina Mary Tonelli Staats of Pawleys Island, SC, and Elizabeth Rose Tonelli of Fall River, MA. One Sister: Emma Bruce of Nashville, Tenn. Two Grandchildren and Two Great grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Robert Tonelli and Louise Regan.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Etile Tonelli and the late Rose (Perron) Tonelli. He was a life long resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he was a Machinist at Tonelli Machine Shop. He was a former member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Angels; SS Peter & Paul Society; a member of the Board of Directors of Our Lady of Angels Federal Credit Union, and a member of the Knights of Columbus of Tiverton. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, now Good Shepherd Parish.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Parish, So. Main St., at 10:00 A.M. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday 7-9 P.M.
