Kathleen M. King 74, of Quincy passed away October 25, 2021.
Kathy was the daughter of late James A Hemphill Jr and Eugenia (Guilfoy) Hemphill. She was born in Boston and grew up in Saint Ann's Parish in Dorchester, a graduate of Stoughton high school and continued her education at Northeastern University where she received her bachelors degree.
Kathy settled in Quincy where she raised her two children and grandson.
Kathy was a lab technician where she worked at the Carney hospital for 30+ years. She enjoyed playing golf, crocheting, reading books and watching all of her Boston sports teams. She loved spending time with her family and most recent her great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her son Paul H King Jr. of Quincy, daughter Monica King of Weymouth, grandson Andrew King and partner Julie Vongkhotsombath, her granddaughter Macayla King of Quincy and Ava Gardner of Weymouth, great granddaughter Skylar Rose King. She leaves behind her siblings Donna Parshley and Husband Walter of Stoughton and Nancy Hazelwood of Lakeville as well as the late Jeanne Parenteau, Dorothy Clarke, James Hemphill, Robert Hemphill and Norman Hemphill. Kathy is survived by a host of nieces nephews and many close family friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Casper Funeral Home located at 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 12PM - 2PM. Interment services will be private.
