While in London, he met the love of his life, Frances Horowitz, and they were married in 1963. Ed completed his residency at Wayne County General Hospital, near Ann Arbor, Michigan, during which time Frances received her MSW from the University of Michigan, their daughter Cheri was born. Ed fulfilled his military obligation in the U.S. Air Force in Plattsburgh, New York. In 1971, the family moved Ventura, California, where Ed opened his medical practice and brought the first dialysis machine to Ventura County. Through his long career, Ed established Vista Del Mar Medical Group, a thriving internal medicine practice, and built the dialysis program that exists in the county today. Ed retired in 2015.
