Edwina "Nina" Marie Purssell, 81, a long-term resident of Whitman, MA, passed peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021 in Taunton, MA.
She was born in Quincy, MA on April 2, 1940, the daughter of the late Edward and Doris Sylvester.
She worked & retired from Chadwicks of Boston. She liked to keep busy doing arts & crafts, shopping, and going out to eat. She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network daily and playing solitaire.
She was the loving wife of the late John W. Purssell III, sister of the late Peter Sylvester of Cocoa Beach, FL. She is survived by her brother Frank Sylvester and his wife Carol Donahue of Brockton, MA, brother Charles Sylvester of Marshfield, MA, sister Annie Sylvester of Cocoa Beach, FL, son John Purssell and daughter in-law Tammy Horton of Carver, MA, son Darren Purssell of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Jodi Purssell of Hull, MA, her 3 grandchildren Jeffrey Purssell of Dunedin, FL, Richard Purssell of Brockton, MA, and Stephanie Purssell of Taunton, MA as well as nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Wednesday November 3 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and her funeral services on Thursday November 4 at 9:45 AM from the Chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
