Obituary

Marguerite ‘Peggy’ (Paradise) Dahl of Orleans, passed away Monday October 25th after a brave battle with cancer.

Born June 5th 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Marguerite Carrington Paradise and Joseph Paradise. She attended Fort Hamilton High School in Bay Ridge, NY and immediately upon graduating, started a career as an art director for Abraham & Strauss. Riding the subway with Ford Models founder Eileen Ford, dinners at the U.N., drinks at 21Club and frequently, working as a model herself, she began her pursuit of the fabulous.

She met and married a dashing young buyer for A&S named James P. Goehler with whom she had 3 children. Shortly after divorcing, Peg reunited with a high school sweetheart, a tall, quiet Viking named Leonard Dahl. She would describe him as the love of her life. They spent many years together in the mountains of her beloved North Carolina. Peg and Len traveled the world together and had a wonderful life.

When he left for heaven before her, another door opened and she became what was to be her greatest role yet, a grandmother. To Peggy Dahl the sun rose and set because of her granddaughters Skyelar Carrington and Rayna Rose. We all hope they inherit her sense of style and elegance.

In addition to her granddaughters, she leaves her children Gregory Dahl and daughter-in-law Mallory, Jim Goehler and daughter-in-law Charlene, and daughter Kelli Dahl of Brewster, Mass.

At Peggy’s request there will be no funeral. The family therefore requests the next time you enter a TJMaxx, you take a moment to think about Peggy Dahl and then buy yourself something fabulous.
