Obituary

LEICESTER: Douglas H. Menard, 71, of Harberton Drive died Thursday, October 28th in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Eleanor M. (Bergin) Menard, two sons; Adam J. Menard of Leicester and Timothy D. Menard of Scituate, a daughter Elizabeth M. Spitz of Grafton, two sisters; Lynne Randolph and her husband Allen of Whitinsville and Valerie Menard of Delaware, two granddaughters; Ellie & Miranda Spitz and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Rebecca Greene.

Douglas was born in Worcester, son of Edward Menard and Alice (Howard) Randolph. He graduated from David Prouty High School and served on their class reunion committee. He was a printer at Quinsigamond Community College for many years. He was a former member and chairman of the Leicester Personnel Board and a member and former President of the Worcester County Club of Printing House Craftsman. He was active for many years with the Leicester Boy Scouts. He enjoyed fishing, photography & film, tinkering with wood crafts and camping at Treasure Valley for several years with the Boy Scouts.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St.Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 491 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 2nd from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Leicester Food Pantry, P.O. Box 333, Leicester, MA 01524 or to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, Development Office, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
