Darryl Brenton “Brent” Gilland Jr., 28, of Kansas City, Missouri died unexpectedly on October 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born on June 2, 1993 in Anderson, the son of Darryl Brenton Gilland Sr. and Donna (Coppess) Groves (Brad Groves)
Brent was employed by Broad Ridge Financial as a mail processor and had previously worked at Office Depot for several years. He enjoyed writing and performing music and was a guitar player in several bands. He also enjoyed playing video games.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his fiancé’, Samantha “Sam” Polhman; six siblings, Brandi (Jack Dietz) Gilland, Amy Gilland (Jonathon Murphy), Amanda Mullins, Angela "Nikki" (Tony) Sparks, Jessica (Andy) Ashton, Ashley Standlee (Taylor Groves) ; several aunts and uncles. He was known as "Uncle Bub" to many nieces and nephews.
Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents; Elizabeth Coppess; Charles Coppess Sr.; and Elsie Patterson.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson officiated by Pastors Mark Landis and Ray Renner.
Memorial contributions may be given to Kansas City Pet Project, Kansas City, Missouri.
