Obituary

Juanita Lorene (Nita) Crawford, 58 of Oxnard, California, transitioned from her mortal life on October 26, 2021, at her Oxnard residence following a long but brave battle against cancer. She was born in Bristol, Tennessee to Robert and Earnestine Fields on April 27, 1963. On the day of her birth, the normally cold mountainous region of Tennessee recorded an unusual warm temperature of 100 degrees, which earned her the childhood nickname "Sunshine", matching her sunny and smiling disposition. At the young age of four, Juanita and her brother Robert moved to Ohatchee, Alabama to live with their beloved Paternal Aunt, Lorene McClintock. Juanita attended Ohatchee High and played flute in the school’s first band until her graduation in 1984. After graduation, she became the first person of color to gain employment at Ohatchee's Old Town Hall. Juanita relocated to Oxnard, California in 1986 where she attained a Business Administration Assistant degree from Watterson College. From childhood through early adulthood, Juanita was a faithful member of Ohatchee First Baptist Church.

Juanita leaves to mourn her passing a loving husband of 26 years, Lorenzo Crawford, children, Andrew K. Fields, Ashley Allen, Aunastasia Hambright, Xavier Crawford, Donovan Crawford, brothers, Anthony W. Taylor and George (Billy) Fields, sister, Michele (Kivie) Hambright-Bowie, grandchildren, Austin Crawford, Ryauna Hambright, Victoria Hambright, Legend Love Robinson, daughter-in-common-law Elys Castro, Uncle, Frank Hambright and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
