BROCKTON__Michael J. Wiencis, 57, of Brockton, passed away after a valiant struggle with cancer on Friday October 22, 2021 in Brockton Hospital. He leaves his brother, Timothy Wiencis and his wife Jeannie Wiencis of Farmingdale, NY., his uncles, Wayne Millet and Harold Smith, his numerous cousins and their children and special acknowledgement and thanks to Robert and to Michael’s caregivers. He was predeceased by his mother, Linda – Lee (Millet) Godin, and his grandmother, Rita Louise (Everton) Beaupre, who helped to raise him and an uncle, Dennis E. “Mickey” Millet. Michael received his education through the North Attleboro schools and graduated from Dighton / Rehoboth Regional High School. He also studied at the Devereux School, Rutland, Ma. Michael was an Olympic athlete with the Special Olympics where he competed in Water Polo and Basketball and earned two Special Olympic medals. He did office and clerical work. He also worked for Stop & Shop Corporation and McDonalds. For over twenty years Michael served as the “Honorary Fire Chief” for Foxborough at the annual Foxborough Founder’s Day and Parade. Michael loved all sports.
Michael’s funeral will be held on Friday November 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Michael will be buried alongside his Mother and Grandmother following the Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I. Dirsa - Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., Worcester is assisting the family.
