Daniel P. Walleston, Jr., 24 of Whitman, passed unexpectedly in Portland, Maine on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was an amazing young man, with a smile that could light up a room.
Danny enjoyed taking care of himself, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family.
Danny is survived by his parents, Daniel and Lillian Walleston of Whitman and Heather McLaughlin of Coventry Rhode Island. In addition to his parents, Danny is also survived by his brothers, Nick Walleston of Whitman and Shawn Walleston of Lexington, KY. Danny is also survived by his grandparents John and Edith McLaughlin of Warwick, RI as well as John E. Walleston Sr. of Pikeville, NC and the late Catherine S. Walleston, formerly of Whitman. Danny will be missed by his aunts and uncles, Leslie and Ron Morrissey, John and Nicole McLaughlin, John E Walleston Jr. and Robert D’Arcy of Brockton, Erin Walleston and Tim Reyno of Weymouth and Anthony and Mary Walleston of Abington. Having come from a large family, Danny also had several cousins including Carrissa Drew of Whitman, Anthony Walleston of Attleboro, Jack Walleston of Abington, Patrick Walleston of Abington, Layla Walleston of Weymouth, Caitlin and Jacob Gansert, Michael Mariorenzi, John and Aoife McLaughlin.
His services will be held on Saturday October 30th from 2:00-5:00pm followed by a 5:00pm funeral service in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Danny’s name to Mosaic Mental Health; ReSolve Recovery Center, Riverdale Avenue, Suite 202, Bronx, NY 10471, Attn: Donna Demetri Friedman. You can also make donations at www.mosaicmh.org, in Danny’s name. Contributions will support Mosaic’s mission to help young men and women battling addiction. A plaque with his photo will be hung in the ReSolve Center to honor his memory.
