Andrew G. Geishecker Jr. of Dedham formerly of Norwood and Falmouth, passed away on October 23, 2021 at the age of 90.
Father of Loriann (Allen) Geishecker and Kristin (James) Theofanides, “Grandy” to granddaughters Maggie and Lily Theofanides, and brother to Carol (Richard) Martin, all of Falmouth. Uncle to Lisa (Richard) Dovidio of Wilmington, Linda (Peter) Cook of Westwood, Susan (Brian) Sindoni of Franklin, and Frank (Lisa) Candelieri of Hingham. Also survived by many beloved cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Judge Andrew G. Geishecker Sr. and Margaret M. (Pipping) Geishecker, and brother John H. Geishecker.
Born in Boston, MA and raised in Dedham, Andy attended St. John’s Preparatory School, Boston Technical High School and Wentworth Institute where he developed the architecture and woodworking skills that were central to his 40 year career as a builder. Andy founded Lucerne Builders and took great pride in his craft. He created custom homes for clients and spaces they could enjoy with their loved ones. After his retirement from home building, Andy shared his vast knowledge in a second career at the Home Depot in West Roxbury.
Happiest in or on the water, by the ocean or poolside at his Norwood apartment, Andy spent many years living on Cape Cod, where his children and grandchildren were born. Andy always enjoyed time with friends and family, sharing a good meal and preferably a chocolate dessert, all with a large helping of humor and laughter.
Andy shared many things with his daughters, including a love for the ocean and sunny Florida, appreciation for a handy kitchen gadget and a good cup of coffee, and the importance of having a tall stack of books at the ready. We are grateful, especially to those who befriended and cared for him at Traditions of Dedham and The Ellis in Norwood. He will be missed by all of us.
Burial will be private at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham, with a memorial celebration to be held at a later date.
Donations may be made in Andy’s memory to the Falmouth Service Center, 611 Gifford St., Falmouth, MA 02540 and The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
