Charlton- Marilyn M. (Mard) Woods, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton. Her beloved husband of 59 years William Woods predeceased her. She leaves four sons- Robert and his wife Molly of Vista, CA; Charles and Julie of Vancouver, WA; David of Charlton, MA; Peter and his wife Lynn of Santa Clara, CA; one daughter- Candice of Waltham, MA; six grandchildren- Jennifer, John, Jessica, Gregory, Jacqueline, and Victoria; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Mard Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Carol Woods, wife of David.
Marilyn was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Richard and Gertrude (Peterson) Mard. She graduated from Commerce High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Upsala College in 1950. She worked as an educator in the Holden Public School System in the 1960s and 1970s. She also worked as an accountant in a local manufacturing business for many years. She was a gifted oil painter and pianist. She enjoyed sewing, skiing, sailing, and traveled extensively- both domestically and internationally.
