Mr. Rafael Santiago recently passed away at the age of 66 after battling with terminal cancer.
Rafael was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and was a lifelong resident of Boston’s South End neighborhood, where everybody knew who he was.
Rafael served his country’s military armed forces Army in the rank of Sergeant and was involved in several communities' groups including the Puerto Rican’s Monument Association of Boston.
Rafael was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, boats and a gentle giant to family, whom he loved dearly. Rafael is survived by his loving mother Amelia Trinidad, son Rafelito, his wife Mayra, step children Rosemary, Glenda and Hector, his loving grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Casper Funeral Home located at 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 3-5 PM. Military Honor Guard will be presenting the flag and the playing of taps. All Veterans are welcomed. Interment services will be private.
