ARIZONA ---- James 'Jim' T. Albamont, age 71, of Prescott Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.
He was born on January 28, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ, the son of Charles and Rose (Matarazzo) Albamont.
He was a graduate of Westwood High School in 1969 and received his diploma in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in 1971. In 1971, he joined the US Army and was stationed at Fort Dix at the 532nd Military Police Company, Rank E5, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1973.
Jim was a proud patriot and a trusted confident to his many friends and neighbors. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling, not only in the United States, but in Europe where he met his Italian relatives. Jim also loved helping family, friends, and neighbors working on whatever projects needed doing. He was a Past Master at Olive Branch Masonic Lodge in Plymouth, NH, and a member of the American Legion in Prescott Valley, AZ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Karen; son, James (wife Valerie); daughter, Amy (husband Jared); and grandsons, Calvin and Harrison. He is also survived by his brothers, George, Steven, and John; sisters, Marriane and Louise; 18 nieces and nephews; and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Family and friends whose life Jim touched are invited to a service on October 28, 2021, at 10:00 am, at Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, NH, 03253, followed by a reception in the church hall.
A private burial will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans’ Cemetery in Boscawen, after the reception.
