Connie L. Ferguson, 64, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Friday, October 22, 2021, at her daughter’s residence after a long battle with illness.
Memorial graveside services 2 PM, Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Mystic Cemetery in Mystic with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating.
She was born March 18, 1957, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Raymond & Clara Hensley Johnson. She was raised in the Ocilla Church of God and later switched to Baptist faith. She worked most of her life as a waitress and store clerk. She was a CNA at Irwin County Hospital for many years and a longtime employee of Dorminy Medical Center as an ER ward clerk. She was very strong in her faith. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grands. She loved working on her flowers and decorating her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Dennison (Brooks Rivers) of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Caitlyn Dennison, Brandon Sirmans, Chloe Smith, and Jaci Phillips; nieces: Judy Cox, Lynn Cox, Angel Cox, Rachel Cox, Stephanie Cazares, Karina Montiel, Kaylee Cazares, and Breanna Cazares; and nephews: Anthony Cox, Michael Cox, Kevin Cox, Jonathon Cox, James Cox, Caleb Cox, Jacob Cox, and Korey Cazares. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferguson; a daughter, Charity Smith a grandson, Dylan Sirmans; two brothers and one sister.
