Louie Vernon Barnes, 77, of Tifton passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Barnes will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Buddy Franklin, David Morris, Billy Barnes, Ken Barnes, Randy Barnes and Mike Beard will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 22, 1944, in Tifton, Mr. Barnes was the son of the late Harvey Ray Barnes and Eunice Davis Pettett. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ennis Ray Barnes, Jerry D. Barnes, Millard F. Barnes and Jimmy C. Barnes. He was retired from Heatcraft.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Jean Jackson Barnes of Tifton; two sons, Ronnie Barnes and Tony Louis Barnes, both of Tifton; one brother, Charles C. Barnes of Pensacola, Florida; five grandchildren, Gavin Barnes, Laken B. and Brandon Haire, Carson Barnes, Gage and Haley Barnes and Bradyn Barnes; and two great-grandchildren, Nora Elizabeth Barnes and Sawyer Haire.
