Arlene Valcourt of Brockton passed away peacefully on October 21st
at the age of 79. Arlene was the beloved wife of Robert for 35 years.
Together they shared many joyous adventures. She was the daughter
of the late Timothy and Helen Donovan, stepdaughter of Mary
Donovan, loving sister of Frances Carleton and her husband John of
Canton, and Stephen and his wife Jeanne Donovan of S. Attleboro.
Arlene was the proud aunt of Daniel and Thomas Carleton and Ellen
Anziano of MA, Peter Carleton of MI, Kelly Loder and Richard Tadlock
of RI, and many grandnieces (Alicia, Stephanie, Jessica, Melissa,
Sarah, Katie, and Caitlin) and grandnephews (Matthew, Andrew,
Nicolas and Michael) in MA, RI and MI. For 35 years Arlene was
employed at Blue Hills Regional School in Canton as the school’s
payroll official.
Arlene had a kind and generous spirit, combined with an independent
and adventurous streak. Before she and Bob married she travelled
through Europe alone to see more of the world. After they wed,
together they toured more of the northeast US by motorcycle and tour
bus, which Bob drove. Over time they flew to the Caribbean islands
many times, and to Morroco, Spain, and also to England to visit close
friends they had made in Jamaica on one of their trips. Together they
had a knack for making friends everywhere they visited.
Visiting hours are on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 10am to 12 noon
at the Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St.,
Canton, with a memorial service at 12 noon. Interment at Knollwood
Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers donations in Arlene’s
memory may be made to MSPCA-Angell, 350 S. Huntington Ave.,
