Alice Register, 84, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Register was born May 1, 1937, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Bailey & Kizzie Brady Harper. She managed several retail businesses and was owner & operator of Kiddie Corner. She was also a master quilter, a seamstress, and crafted pine needle baskets. She won many blue ribbons for her quilts and enjoyed sharing her talents. She taught crafting classes at Wiregrass. Mrs. Register also enjoyed baking and gardening. She was a member of the Wiregrass Quilt Guild, the Red Hat Society, and a member of Crossview Baptist Church, where she was active in the Golden Believers.
She is survived by her daughters: Tina Walker & Glen of Callahan, Florida and Elaine Fowler & Kyle of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jessica Thompson & Nick, Haley Hughes & Jake, Bailey Walker & Kristin, Bobby Walker & Emily, Cody Archer & SinJin, step-grandchildren: Brandon Fowler & Courtney, Jeremy Fowler & Shawna and Dustin Fowler & Jennifer; 7 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and her cat Honey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Register; a son, James Wendell Smith; a daughter, Peggy Davis and a sister, Ruby Daniels.
