Obituary

Theresa M. (Clark) O'Donnell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at her home in Charlestown. She was 81 years of age.

Theresa was born in Boston on July 21, 1940, a daughter of the late William Clark and Margaret (Haggerty) Clark. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Julie Billiart High School in the North End of Boston. Theresa was a homemaker most of her adult life and took great pride caring for her 4 children following the sudden death of her beloved husband Bernie at a young age over 40 years ago and then has had the pleasure of watching her grandchildren grow into the young adults they have become and she was so very proud of each one them and their accomplishments. In her spare time, Theresa enjoyed the company of her loyal Charlestown girl friends for so many years. Theresa was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association.

Theresa is the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. "Bernie" O'Donnell. She is the devoted mother of Bernie O'Donnell and his wife Patty, Peggy O'Donnell, John O'Donnell and Kevin O'Donnell. She is the proud and loving Nana and Granny to Jimmy, Maggie, Annie and Seamus. She is the beloved sister of the late James Clark. She is the beloved sister-in-law of Mary Doherty and her late husband Richard, Helen and Richard Morrissey, James and Candy O'Donnell, Julia O'Donnell Sullivan and the late Ann and Frederick Collins, John and Theresa O'Donnell, Hugh and Audrey O'Donnell and Peter O'Donnell. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Theresa's visiting hours on Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 12 Noon. Her burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Theresa's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Beacon Hospice for the loving care and compassion given by the wonderful nurses to Theresa during her extended illness.
