On October 16, 2021 at the age of 89, Adele Pierson Bowker peacefully passed away in Ventura, CA. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and befriended everyone.
Adele was born on July 21, 1932 in Maplewood, New Jersey to Hubert Lewis Pierson and Mildred Greville Gothberg. She went to Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey where she graduated in 1950. She went on to earn a degree in Music Education from the Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio in 1954
She lived in Porterville, Ca for 40 years. She taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. She moved to Ventura in 2004 to be close to family and the beach!
Adele loved cats, reading and sitting at the beach. She was a member of AAUW and Daughters of the King. Adele was a faithful and active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Ventura.
She is survived by daughter Jorja Fink Rose ( Jesse), Ventura, Ca, grandchildren Jesse Rose (Sara) Ventura,
Jenael (Eric), Yorba Linda, CA, Jenessa Rose, Carlsbad, CA, and Justine Rose, Thousand Oaks, CA. Adele was great-grandmother to Jesse, Harvey, Nash and Hunter.
She is survived by her daughter, Jonna Liz Bowker, Spring Grove, PA, her grandchildren Jocelyn and Jareth DeWall, and former spouse John King Bowker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred William Fink and daughter, Jamael Lou Fink.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Cypress Place Memory Care and Livingston Memorial Hospice for their loving care of Adele. We are grateful for Reverend Susan Bek’s spiritual guidance.
In 2017 Adele wrote “ I’ve had a long rich life- here at 85 yrs old and healthy, happy, and full of JOY and love of God!”
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Adele’s memory to the Alzheimers Association or The Humane Society.
The family will be planning a celebration of life sometime in the summer of 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
