Charles F. Brown, 72, of East Bridgewater Massachusetts, passed away Monday, October 18th at Brockton Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on August 8th,1949 in Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, Canada, Charles came to the states in mid-1966 where he resided in Whitman, MA until he moved his family, in 1985, to their current residence in East Bridgewater.
Son of the late Lewis and Pearl (Reid) Brown of Whitman, MA and brother of the late Maria and Billy Brown.
Charles retired in 2011 from Fowlers Express where he worked as a Truck Driver for many years. Before that, he was a mechanic and truck driver for the Whitman Foundry.
Charles graduated from Whitman Hanson High School in 1969. After High School, he was drafted and served in the United States Army from February 1970 until October 1971. After his time in the Army, he was a member of the National Guard until 1979.
When not working, he loved to work in his garage on Motorcycles and cars. He especially loved classic cars and more importantly older model Harley Davidsons. He loved talking about classic cars and going to car shows. Taking rides on his 1973 Harley Sportster was always the highlight of his week.
His most loyal and best friends were always the family pets, especially the dogs he had over the years.
Later in life, after retirement, he really enjoyed his time on the couch watching endless hours of Westerns on television.
Charlie leaves behind Joyce (Ford) Brown, his loving wife of 48 years married, brother David and his wife Ellen of Wareham, MA, brother George of Whitman, MA, sister Jennie of Abington, MA, and brother Robert who now resides in Maine. His youngest son Corry and his wife Maria Brown of Bloomingdale, NJ, his grandchildren Alejandro and Isabella and his son Christopher and his wife Jill Brown of Gilford, NH, his grandchildren Sierra, Darren, and Jack.
Charles also had many nieces and nephews that he now leaves behind.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date at Northville Cemetery in East Bridgewater to honor Charles.
