CHICOPEE – Stanley J. Tokarski, Jr., 89, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in Willimansett on October 29, 1931, a beloved son of the late Stanley J. Tokarski, Sr. and Estelle (Cyran) Tokarski. Stanley was drafted during the Korean conflict in 1952 and retired after 24 years of military service during which time he served in Germany until 1956. From 1956 -1959, Stanley worked with the US Government in Washington, DC. He was then assigned to Fort Holabird in Baltimore, MD to study photo interpretation. From there, he was assigned to Fort Benning in Georgia in 1960 and in 1961 he was assigned to the 7th Special Forces at Fort Bragg, NC. In 1963, he was assigned to Vietnam for seven months after which he separated from the Army and joined the Special Forces Reserves in Massachusetts. At the end of five years, he joined the 187th Infantry Brigade. Stanley was a long-time resident of Chicopee and a member of the Chicopee Sportsmen’s Club and the DAV. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Ann (Pace) Tokarski. They were married on September 28, 1957 and blessed with 64 years of marriage. He leaves his three loving children, Tamara (Tokarski) Edson and her husband, Greg, Debra (Tokarski) LaPointe and her husband, George, and Stephen Tokarski and his wife, Kathleen; his eight cherished grandchildren, Allison (LaPointe) Perez and her husband, Troy, Christopher LaPointe, Katya Edson, Natalya Edson, Gavin Tokarski, Matthew Tokarski, Grace Tokarski, and Meghan Tokarski. He also leaves cousins, Alice and Frank Tokarski, Suzanne and Daniel Cole and Linda and Richard Cyran. His friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service with United States Army Military Honors on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
