SALUSTRO, Mary R. Of Needham, formerly of Newton Centre, passed away on October 18, 2021. She was born August 20, 1926.
She is survived by her brother, Henry Salustro, of Bonita Springs, FL., nephew Keith Salustro of Newton, niece Wendy Salustro of Southbury CT., niece Anita Collins of Milton. Nieces Judy Schroeder of Sweet Home, OR., and Emily Asher of Graham, WA and Teresa Asher of Vashon, WA, nephew Bill Asher of Lakewood, WA., and many grand nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Mary was a graduate of Newton High School in 1944.
Mary enjoyed traveling, stamp collecting, and line dancing, and her friends at the Needham Senior Center. Mary donated much of her stamp collection to the Museum, and also served a two-year term as President.
Mary would like to say thanks and prayers to her family and friends, with a special thanks to her niece Anita Collins, and her nephew Keith Salustro, his wife Lorena, and grand niece Nicole Capulli.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Thursday, October 21st from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church 1321 Centre St. Newton on Friday October 22nd at 12 Noon. Interment Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name can be made to The Guild of St Francis, 1321 Center Street, Newton MA, or the Spellman Museum of Postal History in Weston, MA.
