James A. Moran, Jr.

James A. Moran, Jr., age 82, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of the late Rogette C. (Abizaid) Moran, to whom he was wed for thirty-seven years at the time of her death on October 3, 2005.
Born in Lowell, MA on June 20, 1939, he was a loving son of the late James A., Sr. and Lillian H. (Hill) Moran.
Jim grew up in Dracut and was a 1957 graduate of Dracut High School. He continued his education, attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his master’s degree from the University of Kansas.
A resident of Mansfield for the past forty-nine years, Mr. Moran had worked as a Training Specialist at Stratus Securities Corporation in Marlboro, prior to retiring. He was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and during the time of the Vietnam War, proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve.
Jim was an accomplished artist and attended and showed his works at many exhibits. He was also a member of the Mansfield Garden Club and enjoyed gardening at home. He was an exceptional caregiver to his late wife Rogette and his family would like to thank his neighbors Michael and Cheryl Healey and Dawn Van Vliet for their many acts of kindness and care given to Jim throughout the years.
He is survived by his devoted sister Ginger M. April and her husband Don of Dracut. He was the loving uncle of Robert J. Tillson and his longtime girlfriend Robin Tortora of Barnstead, New Hampshire, Brian K. Tillson of Dracut, Aric M. Tillson and his wife Laura of Dracut and the great uncle of Joseph M. Tillson and Emily E. Tillson. He is also survived by his cousins: Maryellen Webster and her husband Wilbur of Plaistow, New Hampshire and Brenda McCarthy of North Andover.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, October 23rd from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 12:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
