Gary A. Tivnan, 47, of Derry, NH and formerly of Salem, MA died suddenly April 12, 2006 at Memorial Hospital in North Conway, NH. He was born in Salem, MA on April 26, 1958, a son of Irene (O’Rourke) (Tivnan) Sullivan and the late Arthur “Red” Tivnan.
He has resided in Derry with his sister’s family for the past year and a half. Gary enjoyed following ice hockey, golf and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed the solitude of camping in the mountains and was a gentle soul who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Irene and Thomas Sullivan of Little River, SC, a sister, Paula Doucette and her husband Michael of Derry, a brother, Dana Tivnan of Salem, MA, a step-sister, Theresa Klose of Apex, NC, two nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Following cremation, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson Fire & Rescue, PO Box 329, Jackson, NH 03846. The Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
