Obituary

John J. “Jack” Regan, 75, of Medway, passed peacefully on October 18, 2021 at his home after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Kathryn J. (Roth) Regan.

He is survived by his daughter Kathy Gruttadauria and partner Phil Amaru of Milton, daughter Laina Kaplan and husband Dan of Medway, son Mark Regan and wife Carolyn of Medway, daughter Jennifer Johnson and husband Paul of Medway, and daughter Jackie Cheetham and husband Phil of West Roxbury. Jack was the adored Papa to twelve grandchildren: Justin, Jack, Hannah, Liam, Matthew, Kyle, Drew, Maggie, Kate, Molly, Bobby and Tommy.

Jack also leaves behind his sister Fran O’Brien and her late husband William of Medway, brothers Danny Regan and his wife Karen of Medway, and Bernie Regan and his wife Chris of Norwood as well as many loving family and friends.

Born in Boston on November 27, 1945, Jack is the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Colleran) Regan. He grew up in Mission Hill, marrying his high school sweetheart Kathy in 1967. Jack earned his Associate’s Degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University, served his country as a member of the Army National Reserves, and built a successful career in the Boston construction industry for over 50 years.

Settling in Medway, MA, in 1971, Jack became an active participant in the town. He was often found passionately coaching youth sports, enjoying lively family gatherings, and summering in Marshfield, MA. In later years Jack found joy watching his grandchildren play competitive sports and taking family vacations.

A Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway on Friday, October 22 at 11:00 AM; burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours are on Thursday, October 21 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
