Eric Arne Herem (“Viejo”/”Erico”). Age 88, of Newbury Park, CA, passed away on October 13, 2021 in his home in Newbury Park. Eric was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Dagmar and Karl Herem on April 20, 1933. He attended and graduated from school in Buenos Aires and earned a business degree several years later at UCLA. He enjoyed rowing, soccer, tennis, dancing, and entertaining family and friends. Eric was a devout Christian who dedicated his time to family and loved ones.
Eric is survived by his eight adult children (Inger, Elsa, Arlen, Buddy, Dawn, Carl, Tammy, and Allan) and a slew of grand and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dagmar and father, Karl who exemplified a life of diligence, honesty, and nurturing love. He was a simple and honorable man, a master of dignity and class. He is and will be missed by so many. Special gratitude to Livingston Hospice for their great care and compassion in serving our dad in his final days and to Carl Saxton for watching over dad so lovingly in those final weeks.
