New Bedford – Daniel Garcia Diaz, age 91 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Hilda I. Rodriguez Garcia, whom he married on October 25, 1969 in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
Daniel was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Pedro Garcia Marquez and Paula Diaz Cruz. He had been a self-employed home cleaner for many years.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Hilda Rodriguez Garcia; children, Pedro L. Garcia de León, Jeaneette Garcia Rodriguez and Alexander Garcia Rodriguez; grandchildren, Daniel Garcia Acevedo, Johel Garcia Acevedo, Katiria Garcia Diaz, Germain Martinez, Stephanie Martinez Garcia and Xavier Martinez Garcia; great-grandchildren, Kelier Garcia, Janiel Garcia, Alanis Garcia, Francelys Martinez, Yerielys Martinez, Amylee Medina Martinez, Raziel D. Medina Martinez, Amaia Martinez, Asher J. Linch, Mia A. Linch and Gustavo A. Martinez.
Daniel’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Friday, October 15, 2021. Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. with a service to be held during this time. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
