Virginia “Ginny” McCann, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Craig Brannon and Rev. Cecil Burkett officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. McCann was born July 29,1945, in Jamestown, New York, to the late Frank and Francillian Jimerson. She was a Native American and member of the Iroquois-Seneca Nation-Turtle Clan. She lived in the Fitzgerald community for the past thirteen years. Mrs. McCann was a homemaker and a former employee of Truck-Light in Falconer, New York. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Gleaner Sunday School Class.
Mrs. McCann is survived by her husband: Frederick J. “Fred” McCann of Fitzgerald; son: Patrick James (Patti) McCann of Orlando, FL; daughter: Emily Sue (Daniel) Ray of Fitzgerald; 4 grandchildren; Nicole Ray, Kaitlyn Grider, Sadie McCann and Grace McCann; brother: Daniel Jimerson of Salamanca, NY; sisters: Rose Covert of Steamburg, NY and Hazel Harrison of Lakewood, NY.
