Thomas "Tommy" Edwin Flanders, 70, of Enigma passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Michael Bennett and the Rev. Garvie Nichols officiating. Mr. Flanders will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Anthony Aultman, Dusty Tucker, Carl Nichols, Marion Giddens, Waymon Giddens and Ed Giddens will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 11, 1951, in Hahira, Mr. Flanders was the son of the late Charles H. Flanders and Sara Z. Summerlin Flanders. He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Kyle Flanders; and one brother, Charles N. Flanders. He was a LP gas technician at Barfield Gas Company. He loved his grandchildren, drag racing and horses. He was a hard worker and worked hard as long as his health would allow him to.
Mr. Flanders is survived by his wife, Susan Goode Flanders of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Corrie and Amber Flanders of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Cara L. and Perry Mullis of Enigma; one brother, Larry David Flanders of Alapaha; and three grandchildren, Cade Flanders, Grace Flanders and Paige Mullis.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a favorite charity.
