Paul R. Donnelly, 90, of Randolph, formerly of the Cherry Valley area, Roxbury, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Paul was born in Boston, MA on March 18, 1931.
Paul was the devoted and loving husband of the late Barbara Donnelly (Steele) and they would have been married 70 years on October 5, 2021. Paul was the father of Robert Donnelly and his wife Kelly of Powhatan, VA. and grandfather to Kylie, Conner, Cole. He is predeceased by his daughter Lorraine Walsh (Donnelly) and son James (Jimmy) Donnelly. Paul is the brother of the late Leo, James, Mike and Eleanor Donnelly. Paul and Barbara spent many happy times with family, especially Barbara’s siblings Richard and wife Maureen Steele of North Attleboro and Marilyn Filicicchia and partner Paul McAdams of Braintree, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In 1997, Paul was named Cab Driver of the Year by Boston City Mayor Thomas Menino. He made his living as a cab driver until age 83, helping elderly customers with their weekly grocery shopping.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life for Paul and Barbara at the Gilman Chapel, Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street in Dorchester, MA.on Saturday, October 16, at 11:00 am.
