BUXTON- Barbara Eva (Pinkham) Anderson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2021.
She was born in Portland on June 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Brown) Pinkham.
Over the years she worked at Sylvania in Standish and owned and operated The Roost in Buxton with her husband. Owning The Roost was very special to her. Even in her final days, Barbara spoke of the great times that were had there and the wonderful people she met there.
Family was important to her. This was especially evident at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Barbara would host dinners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This involved having the whole family over to enjoy the meals and open presents. Anyone who was there would remember the candy counting game she created each year. Barbara was very fond of her pets especially her dog named Bear. She always seemed to have litters of kittens in the house. At one point in time, she had 3 cats that all had babies within days of each other and it seemed like there were kittens crawling in every corner of the house.
She is predeceased by her husband- Donald L. Anderson; a daughter- Dawn Anderson; a stepson- Steven Anderson; and siblings- Richard, Robert, and Emma.
Barbara is survived by her children- David Anderson, Alan Anderson, and Cheryl Richards; stepchildren- Stephanie Reardon and Scott Anderson; her many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she cherished; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday Oct. 18, at 2 PM at the South Buxton Cemetery.
