Jacob "Tyler" Gay, 23, of Tifton passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Steve Tucker and the Rev. Gary Caldwell officiating. Tyler will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Tyler will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Michael Hendley, Ben Henderson, Collin Graham, Derek Pilkinton, Travis Harper, Tyler Morgan and Brantley Barrentine will serve as pallbearers. Tyler’s brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born June 4, 1998, in Tifton, Tyler was the son of Christopher Gay of Tifton and the late Suzanne Natasha Pitts Moore. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one uncle, Tommy Lamar Gay. He was a salesman at Action Buildings in Tifton. In high school, he was a member of the Air Force Jr. R.O.T.C. for four years and he was a member of the Deputies Explorers. He loved his animals and he loved working with people. He dearly loved his family and making people laugh.
In addition to his father, Tyler is survived by his fiance’, Crissy Chason of Tifton; his daughter, Millie Gay of Tifton; his grandparents, Jerry and Linda Gay and Nancy Paulk and Robert Lentz, all of Tifton; his great-grandmother, Floy Mae Paulk of Tifton; and three brothers, Christopher Kayde Gay of Fitzgerald, Jaden Gay of Tifton and Logan Eli Griffin of Sycamore.
