Jeffery Charles McKibben, affectionately known as “Jeff” passed away unexpectantly Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Jeff was born May 19th, 1958, in New London, Connecticut to Barbara and James McKibben.
He lived his life as a gentle, honest soul, showing kindness to anyone he met and especially dedicated to his friends and beautiful family. Jeff married his lifelong love, Katherine McKibben on February 14, 1984, spending 37 years by her side, while they raised and loved their three children, Christine Diaz, Joshua McKibben, and Ashley Wilganowski. A beloved grandfather to his six grandbabies, Jordan, Jeremiah, Alfie, Emma, Primrose, and Austin.
Jeff was a hardworking man who dedicated 45 years as a Construction Mechanic at Electric Boat and eventually worked his way up to the Water Filtration Facility. Jeff spent his personal time with his best dog Ava, sitting by the water, watching the planes and birds go by.
May his heart and soul forever be remembered as the gentle and loving man he was. Jeff McKibben is survived by his brothers, Jimmy McKibben, David McKibben, and his Sister Susan Granata.
His funeral will be held Saturday October 9, 2021, at 10:00am at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. He will be laid to rest at Avery Stoddard Cemetery in Ledyard, Connecticut.
