Elder Travis Edward Fussell, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with Elder Philip Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Lax, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary in Saturday.
Mr. Fussell was born January 23, 1948, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late J. W. & Oveda Harper Fussell. He was a 1966 graduate of Coffee County High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Chemistry from South Georgia College. Mr. Fussell was a medical technician working in the lab for Dorminy Medical Center and others for 41 years. He was a Primitive Baptist Elder and had served since 2006, currently leading Brushy Creek Church.
He is survived by his children: Edward Fussell, II & Sheree of Lawrenceville, Rosanne McMath & Lee of Plainwell, Michigan and Joel William Fussell & Laura of Hinesville; grandchildren: Will Fussell & Alana, John Lee McMath & Allie, Maggie McMath, Carly McMath, Mary Beth McMath and Jennifer Fussell and a sister, Janice Fussell Hattaway & Lem of the Lax community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Rowe Fussell and three brothers: Carroll Fussell, William Fussell and Larry Fussell.
